I’m Taylor Vincent, a Klarman Fellow at Cornell University. I am also an affiliate with Gender and the Security Sector (GSS) Lab at Cornell. I earned my PhD in Government and Politics Department from the University of Maryland-College Park with a focus in International Relations and Comparative Politics. My primary research interests include gender and politics, postwar politics, and the legacies of civil conflict. My book project centers on the gendered consequences of war, with an emphasis the status of women after civil war. Despite gains made for women in terms of political rights and inclusion, women still see varied outcomes in postwar contexts. My book project broadly addresses why we see such variation in gender equality outcomes across various dimensions, such as the ability to inherit property, protections from domestic violence, and access state welfare programs.

My work has been published at The Economics of Peace and Security Journal and Journal of Peace Research.

Previously, I was a pre-doctoral fellow with the GSS Lab. Prior to my PhD, I received my MA in Political Science from Duke University, worked at a non-profit working on employment opportunities for those in poverty and largely the formerly incarcerated based in the St. Louis, MO region, and received BA in Political Science and Anthropology from Purdue University.
